One of my favorite reality shows turns out to be completely fake. Operation Repo is show on TruTV (formerly CourTV) where a team of reposession agents go around repossessing vehicles for finance companies. Everytime I watch the show, one of the guys (Matt) is always roughing someone and I always wonder how they get away with it.. i know now, it's all FAKE! If the show was real, Matt would violate the Collateral Recovery Act of the State of California as repossesion agents are not allowed to rough people up. Not sure I can watch the show anymore now that I know it's fake.

Once Matt says "there for our protection" then everything is okay and the people forget about them.(be real) Then the car owners are shooting at Matt or chasing him down the road with a tire iron. Yet the camera men are standing there and everyone is okay with it. None of it make any sense unless you realize the whole thing is scripted.
Also, how come you never see the yard. At least in "All Worked-up" you see half of the action going on at the office. In Operation Repo sometimes you will see Lou in an empty room - where do put all of the cars? Oh wait - its all fake.

Now if you pay real attention first look at the angle of the camera as Matt gets tazered. when the nodes leave the gun they pass by Matt and then fall to the ground. Matt is laying there and nothing is on his shirt. when the camera comes back to Matt you can see the two nodes attached to his shirt yet a moment before they weren't there.
At one point it wasn't a bad show but as most say Sonya was to say the least an eye sore
I don't plan on watching this show anymore as it's painfully obvious that it's fake.

An acquaintance was on the show, and she acted exactly the same way on that show as she does in real life. People really are that dumb. And I don't think they have to get people's permission when the people are filmed on the repo people's property. I have been told that you can videotape whatever you want as long as you are on your property or public property. The inside of the repo's truck would also be considered the repo man's property.

I work mainly in east LA, On one day me and my partner pulled up on a scene where a man was wrestling with another man on the ground we stopped to break up the fight. The character Matt Burch stopped and stated they are shooting a scene for a television show. The director, Luis comes out of a SUV and confirmed there just shooting a show. They re shot the scene while me and my partner was there
The show is bull, made just to entertain people.

Sure some of it's over-the-top sometimes, but answer me this: Would you watch a polite exchange where the debtor hands over the keys and calmly agrees to surrender their vehicle and contact their finance company or would you rather see something that's exaggerated?
Naturally they're only showing the crazy repo stories and padding it with some exaggeration. It's how shows get ratings.
Besides the cast is pretty classic isn't it? You have the big-daddy father figure, the mouthy Hispanic woman who doesn't take shit from anyone, the lady's man, the mouth teenager who's at times disobedient and looked down on by her co-workers/family but trying hard to prove herself, and of course the tough-on-the-outside teddy bear who will beat down anyone who threatens his family (even though he's, like, adopted or something XD)
Then there was Frank who was, let's be honest, a horrible actor. He was shown pissing off each of the crew members until he was finally canned for DUI. And the fact that Matt get's "fired" a few times but always comes back. Soooo obviously scripted to get a reaction for the viewers. "OMG Frank is terrible get rid of him!" "Ah! No! Don't fire Matt! Give him another chance D:". Ratings rating ratings!
But anyway, I like the show because it's amusing and because these kinds of scenarios probably do happen (just with a little less violence). Just because the show isn't real doesn't mean the events are impossible. As they say: "Truth is stranger than fiction".

Its a regular looking beer, pop, liquor etc bottle, the only difference is the thickness of the glass. a regular domestic beer bottle is about 3 mm thick, a 'prottle' is a glass bottle of only .5-1mm thick. therefore, when u get hit by it, it shatters very easily. Just like those wooden chairs they break over wrestler's heads and backs. I haven't seen worse acting in all my life. Bullshit sells, and thats why everyone watches it...
